Examined cytologically, squamous cell breast carcinoma will tend to show malignant squamous cells cancer cells with keratinising cytoplasm. Laboratory investigation showed hypercalcemia. A year after the operation there were no indications for relapse nor for metastasis or a skin tumor. However, squamous cell breast cancers do typically show a reduced tendency for lymphatic spread when compared to breast adenocarcinomas. The Bloom Richardson score was eight, this means high grade malignant.
It is recommended to give patients similar adjuvant therapy but the radiosensitivity of squamous cell carcinomas is uncertain. After the operation the pathological examination revealed a primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast. Breast abscess as the initial presentation of squamous cell carcinoma of the breast. Laboratory investigation showed hypercalcemia.

A rare presentation and clinicopathologic comparison with usual ductal carcinoma of the breast. The postoperative course was uncomplicated. We report a case of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast presenting as a usual breast carcinoma.
